VK2 / VK3 SSTV tests successfully conducted via IRLP.
First VK2 / VK3 IRLP SSTV test were conducted on Wednesday 5 September 2001 on nodes #604 and #639.
This time there was packet losses on the link and the normal Scottie S1 mode was prone to corruption by packet loss, which breaks the picture into horizontal bands which become disjoined.
We then tried Robot 36, which was hit less by packet loss, due to its shorter transmission time, and results were mostly good, not unlike those obtained on good HF paths.
The skewing problem was still evident on tonight link as well.
Stations involved were
VK3JDA
VK3JED
VK2ZG
VK2FJL
VK2RD
VK2YP
SSTV is viable on good links, the critical factor is packet loss.
For me (David VK3JDA) I am now looking for an overseas contact.
